Brief Synopsis: In 2010, eccentric millionaire Forrest Fenn decided to hide a treasure somewhere in the wilderness of the Rocky Mountains and published a poem that would provide clues to the treasure's location. Little did Fenn know that he had just created what would be a ten-year search by tenacious and dedicated treasure hunters, one that would lead to obsession by many and also a few deaths. Journalist Daniel Barbarisi provides a first hand account of the search, as well as fascinating interviews with hunters and Fenn himself.
Thoughts: This was the perfect long car ride audiobook! My entire family was caught up in the race to find the treasure, as well as enjoying the background stories of high-stakes treasure hunting. We were all grateful that the treasure had been found prior to the book's release--I think we would have lost our minds if we thought the treasure was still out there! It was a fun, fascinating tale.
