Brief Synopsis: A family dies under mysterious circumstances while vacationing in Mexico. One of thee surviving sons is currently serving a life sentence for a crime he committed (or did he??) while in high school; the other is a college student who suddenly finds himself being followed. Told through multiple points of view and alternating between past and present, this is a page-turner at its finest.
Thoughts: Initially I was concerned that reading about a murdered family (with children) might be too much--fortunately, the deaths, while important to the story, were not gruesome (or prolific) in detail. In fact, this was a mystery like none I've encountered recently, which is a rare things these days. I listened to the audio version and it made my very long car ride quite fantastic. Perfect summer read!
