Brief Synopsis: Lovecraft Country meets Watchmen (the new HBO version). Too vague? Ok...underneath those white robes, the Klan are really monsters and one woman and her magical sword must take them down before literal hell breaks loose.
Thoughts: I mentioned Lovecraft Country and Watchmen (both of which are excellent story-telling experiences on HBO--I highly recommend them) because this book fits into this kind of genre perfectly--one that takes racism in America and blends it with sci-fi/fantasy aspects. As difficult as these storylines may be, it is vital to continue to read and understand them. Clark did an excellent job of blending the historical and the fantastical into a fast-paced, entertaining read. At 185 pages, you can also read it in one sitting.
