We Are All The Same In The Dark by Julia Heaberlin

4 Stars Source: Audible

Brief Synopsis: Ten years ago, high school beauty queen Trumanell Branson disappeared without a trace. Even though a body was never found her brother, Wyatt, has always been the main suspect. When Wyatt discovers a young girl by the side of the road, he knows the only person that could help him is the town's youngest cop, Odette Tucker. Odette is desperate to solve the case of her friend, Trumanell; she's also desperate to discover the identity of this young girl and help her as well. But Odette's investigating leads her down a dark and dangerous path, one where discovering the truth may end her own life.

Thoughts: Well this was a fun little ride! This story definitely took some turns I was not expecting and I loved the twisty plot line. I liked how the audio version used different narrators for different sections of the book and I enjoyed their narration. While this story does talk about child abuse and murder, I didn't feel like it was too graphic or overwhelming. The novel tended to focus more on the characters inner thoughts concerning family drama than on gruesome details.
